Lalla Takerkoust Gravel Cycling
Lalla Takerkoust is a reservoir and lake at the foot of the Atlas, about 45 minutes south-west of Marrakech. Lakeside pistes, foothill climbing and the climb onto the Kik Plateau make it one of the most rewarding gravel areas near the city — and a natural overnight stop with lakeside lodges.
The lakeside loop
A 60 km loop follows the lake shore on gravel before climbing toward the Kik Plateau approach — sustained but never steep, with the Atlas filling the southern horizon. Lakeside cafés make a natural tea and water stop.
The Kik Plateau link
From the lake a gravel climb lifts you onto the Kik Plateau — big sky, bare ridges and the Toubkal massif ahead. The plateau is the photographic high point of the area.
An overnight at the lake
Lakeside lodges and guesthouses make Lalla Takerkoust a natural overnight — ride out from Marrakech, sleep at the lake, and ride the plateau or the Agafay link the next day.
