Frequently asked questions

What is the best time to ride the Atlantic coast?

March to October. Spring and autumn are fresh and clear; summer is pleasant thanks to the coastal breeze. Winter is wet and windy, so we shift trips inland.

How hard is coastal gravel riding?

Easy to moderate. Cliff-top pistes and argan forest tracks with 100–400 m of daily climbing — gentle compared to the Atlas. The main challenge is wind, which we plan around.

What makes the Atlantic coast special?

A completely different Morocco — ocean light, fishing villages, argan country and cliff-top pistes. It is the perfect finish to a mountains-to-sea point-to-point like the Atlas to the Sea Gravel Adventure.

What accommodation is available?

Coastal guesthouses and Essaouira riads, with Agadir hotels further south. Essaouira is the classic end-of-trip reward — a fortified white town by the ocean.

How do I get to the Atlantic coast?

Essaouira is about 180 km / 2.5 hours from Marrakech. It is usually the finale of a point-to-point trip, but we can run standalone coastal day rides and overnights.

Is it safe to cycle on the coast?

Yes. The pistes are quiet and the terrain is gentle. The main consideration is wind and sun — we ride in the calmest hours and carry water. A support vehicle is available.

Can I bring my own bike?

Yes. We help with assembly in Marrakech, or rent you a gravel bike. The coastal terrain suits any gravel setup with 40c tyres.

Can I combine the coast with the mountains?

Yes — the Atlas to the Sea Gravel Adventure runs mountains to ocean in one point-to-point. Custom itineraries can combine the coast, Atlas and Anti-Atlas.
