Day 1: Atlas: Marrakech to Ourika Valley

•            Distance: Approximately 40-50 km

•            Terrain: Gravel roads, some climbs

•            Highlights: Ride from Marrakech to the stunning Ourika Valley, regarded as a small town and rural commune in Al Haouz Province of the Marrakesh-Tensift-El Haouz region of Morocco. At the time of the 2004 census, the commune had a total population of 26,990 people living in 4,777 households, and it’s known for its picturesque landscapes and traditional Berber villages.

•            Depart from Marrakech which is the fourth largest city in Morocco. It is one of the four Imperial cities of Morocco and the capital of the Marrakesh-Safi region in the morning, heading southeast towards the Atlas Mountains.

•            Ride through scenic countryside, passing small villages and enjoying views of the

surrounding mountains. The region is primarily inhabited by the Berber people, an indigenous group in North Africa. The valley provides an opportunity to experience the local Berber culture, traditions, and way of life. •            Depart from Ouirgane and continue your journey towards Takerkoust which is Lalla Takerkoust is a town in Al Haouz Province, Marrakesh-Safi, Morocco. According to the 2004 census, it has a population of 3,348. and Takarkoust is known for its scenic location, nestled near the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains. The town is situated on the banks of Lake Lalla Takerkoust, which is a man-made reservoir created by the construction of the Lalla Takerkoust Dam. The lake and its surroundings offer beautiful views and opportunities for outdoor activities.

•            Ride along the scenic countryside, passing through remote areas and enjoying the tranquility of nature of Kik plateaux which is also regarded as a high plain or a tableland, is an area of a highland consisting of flat terrain that is raised sharply above the surrounding area on at least one side.

This rocky desert can be likened to a sand desert. Indeed, its white dunes stand and landscape is similar to the Sahara dunes.

•            Continue your ride towards Marrakech, entering the bustling city in the afternoon.
